Pre-kindergarten

Friendship Public Charter School offers pre-kindergarten at two of its five campuses: Chamberlain Elementary and Woodridge Elementary and Middle.

The pre-kindergarten curriculum for three- and four-year-olds focuses on physical, cognitive and language development. Through the Creative Curriculum Program, teachers guide student progress with a series of development steps in each focus area.

Four-year-old pre-kindergarteners are also taught with the Open Court curriculum. The curriculum is researched-based utilizing a systematic approach for instruction in phonemic awareness, phonic and word knowledge, comprehension skills, writing and language skills. All instruction is presented through a literature-rich approach that promotes reading in various genres.
