Why Give To Friendship?
Why is charitable giving so important to Friendship Public Charter School?
Friendship is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization. Our schools were established to provide every student in the District of Columbia with an exceptional educational foundation. To achieve this mission, we continually invest in our campus facilities, academic curriculum, instructional technology, family support services and staff development. Our schools are located in areas of the District where the need for quality public education is greatest.
Without the generous support of parents, grandparents, corporations, foundations and friends we would not be able to maintain the quality of learning that distinguishes our schools. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask that you continue to contribute to Friendship in the following ways:
Monetary Gifts
Our Online Gift System offers the simplest and most secure means for you to support Friendship schools. Writing a check is also a direct way to contribute. Cash contributions, whether given by credit card or check, normally entitle you to a tax deduction for the amount of the gift.
Address all checks to:

Gifts-in-Kind
Gifts-in-Kind are tangible gifts of personal property, such as books, school supplies, technology, furnishings, artwork, historical collections and equipment. Periodically during the school year, we will post a Friendship “Wish List” that will go toward special need students. Assets related to the educational mission of Friendship are tax-deductible for their full fair market value. Personal property unrelated to Friendship's mission can be deducted at the cost to the donor.
Volunteerism
We also welcome volunteers to assist with school events, student clubs, athletics, parent gatherings and fundraising. If you are new to your Friendship school community or simply want to become active in your school program, volunteering is the perfect way to get to know others and contribute.
