Campus Overview
Friendship opened the new Southeast Elementary Academy in August 2005 with 352 students in grades kindergarten to six. Located on the site of a former charter school, Friendship invested over half a million dollars in renovations and new construction to open the new Southeast facility.
Southeast Graduation Day
Today, Southeast students, parents and staff enjoy a vibrant and productive elementary school. Vaulted ceilings, bright light fixtures, hallways in red and ivory and classrooms outfitted with new textbooks and mobile computer laptop carts have created a learning laboratory where students and staff can thrive.
In the 2006-07 school year, Southeast will launch a comprehensive reading initiative for grades kindergarten to three and undergo a major campus expansion that will add 16 new classrooms, a new gymnasium, cafeteria, interactive library and technology-rich SmartLab™ computer center.
The Southeast Elementary Academy campus is located in Ward 8 at 645 Milwaukee Place, Southeast. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with enrichment activities before and after school and on weekends.
