Campus Overview
Praised for its robust academics and nurturing staff, Woodridge Elementary and Middle serves students in grades pre-kindergarten to seven. Teachers ensure that every student achieves a high standard of proficiency by integrating a range of learning tools in daily instruction. They include the Woodridge SmartLab™ computer center, science lab, interactive library and dedicated space for art and music. Woodridge also offers an intensive, after school intervention program that is aligned with classroom curriculum and helps students increase their mastery of core subject areas.
In 2005-06, Woodridge achieved exceptional scores on the DC CAS assessment test, with students exceeding the standard by 11 percent in reading and 11.4 percent in math. Additionally, 70 percent of fifth graders received honors in one or more subjects. These results continue three years of student performance that exceed state goals.
The Woodridge campus is located in Ward 5 of the District of Columbia at 2959 Carlton Avenue, Northeast. Hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with enrichment activities before and after school and on weekends.
